A 16km footpath from Dalraddy to Ruthven near Kingussie, the Badenoch Way winds through native woodland offering magnificent views of Highland glens, mountains, and rivers, with diverse wildlife abundant, including red squirrel, osprey, swans & deer.

Starting at Dalraddy Holiday Park, the Badenoch Way crosses through Dalraddy Moor, joining the footpath in the Pine forest, which leads to the Speybank Walk with its magnificent view points over the famous Cairngorm Mountains, Spey & Feshie rivers.

The path passes through the village of Kincraig, over the 1874 bridge with its fine view over Loch Insh and then past Insh church, listed as a parish church since 1190.

Skirting the loch, the Way runs via the Watersports Centre, through delightful RSPB woodlands, across the B970 and along Forest Enterprise paths up Fairleiter Hill (a short diversion here to take in the viewpoint is well worthwhile).

As the path descends towards the village of Insh, take the old road behind the village, and then meander through the hamlets of Inveruglas & Drumguish before crossing the rushing waters of the Tromie River.

Head through the RSPB Insh Marshes reserve and end the walk at the RSPB car park, 1km from the splendid Ruthven Barracks and 3km from Kingussie.

Whichever way the Badenoch Way is followed, there are 22km of secondary routes coming off the main Way, providing a variety of round trip options.
