We gather at both the Glen Hotel and the Balavil Hotel in good time for the procession, which sets off, to the stirring tunes of a piper from the local Pipe Band, at 23.30.

Assemble on the Primary School Playing Field for free Walkers Shortbread and wee drams of the excellent Stags Breath Whisky Liqueur.

Immediately after the bells we are treated to a superb Fireworks Display.

The formal celebrations then come to an end and folk move off to see in the New Year in whatever way takes their fancy.

All donations go to the Newtonmore Winter Lights Association, who organise this marvellous celebration as well as the superb Christmas Lights along the main street each year. The event would not be possible without the support of the local Fire Brigade, other local folk too numerous to mention and not forgetting Walkers and Meikle’s of Scotland for their generosity.
