Dun Da Lamh

This ancient hill fort stands high above the Spey Dam, west of Laggan Bridge. As you approach the Spey Dam, the hill is obvious – steep and wooded immediately to your left.

Dùn dà Làmh is a Pictish, now ruined, hill fort near Laggan. The exact location of Dun da Lamh fort is grid reference NN 582 929. The best way to access the site is to park at Laggan Wolftrax (please note parking fee). We recommend you use a map to locate the site accurately. There are several potential routes into the forest. The interior of the fort covers an area of some 4000 square metres. It is very uneven and includes several rocky outcrops. The east and south sides of the hill are steep and include some vertical crags.

If you park at the bridge just before the Spey Dam, walk through the gate along the track to your left at the base of the hill, and look out for a right fork up the hill – continue on what becomes a path to reach the summit and remains of the fort.
