Dower House
A small, unique bed and breakfast where hospitality and a warm welcome await you whether you come to walk, cycle, relax or are just passing through. Comfortable, spacious rooms with lots of natural light and garden views.
The Dower House – built in the late 1800s – has seen many visitors, families and well known folk pass over the doorstep; the most notable apart from yourself is DH Lawrence who finished ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ while on holiday. We welcome walkers and cyclists and any other weary travellers.
Situated on the corner of Station Road and Perth Road, behind the big trees, is the Dower House. Nestled in its own gardens, with views out to the surrounding hills, you can rest and recover from your day’s walk, cycle or journey. Wander in the garden and take afternoon tea on arrival. We offer scrumptious breakfasts and comfortable rooms together with a tea and coffee station in your room that will surprise you.
We have 4 well appointed double rooms, (two can be configured as twins) that have their own bathrooms, and where you will find great natural light and views over the garden and beyond. We can do early breakfasts, we have a drying room and a bedroom folder that is packed with ideas for meals, short walks, cycles and much more to do in the local area.
