Nestling in the Cairngorm National Park, the Newtonmore area is a walkers heaven with other outdoor pursuits including fishing on the river Spey, two excellent golf courses, one in Newtonmore and the other adjoining burgh of Kingussie. Other activities in and around the area include skiing, mountain biking, RSPB sites for bird watching, the interactive Highland Folk Museum and Whisky Distilleries or why not take a trip on a romantic steam train or ride the funicular railway to the top of the Cairngorm mountains and remember not to miss your first shinty match. We also have the arrival of the tigers and Mercedes the polar bear at the highland wildlife park.
